In case you’re counting, this is my first blog posting; hence the title (helpfully provided by WordPress). I’ll start with just a quote from the Werner Twertzog: “Optimism requires a combination of ignorance and inexperience”

Things are sure to go downhill from here, and by that I don’t mean effortless movement along a slope assisted by gravity… more like an uncontrolled descent down a scree covered scar into a fiery pit.
